REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION
PATH System – New Jersey / New York
The Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson is located at Two Exchange Place. The most convenient mode of public transportation to the Hyatt Regency is the PATH (Port Authority Trans Hudson) transit system that provides direct service between Newark, New Jersey and New York City with intermediate station stops in Jersey City. The main entrance of the Hyatt Regency Jersey City is located within 100 feet of the PATH station at Exchange Place. Conference attendees and their guests are encouraged to arrive/depart from the Hyatt Regency via the PATH system. Travelers who intend to use the PATH system on a regular basis during the conference might consider purchasing a multi-trip QuickCard/SmartLink to reduce their overall travel costs. The fare options available on the PATH transit system are summarized in the following web link: (
http://www.panynj.gov/CommutingTravel/path/html/fares.html).
MTA System – New York City
The New York City Transit Subway and Bus System or MTA (Metropolitan Transportation Authority) provides convenient public access to sites in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx. Conference attendees and their guests who intend to travel within New York City extensively might consider purchasing a multiple trip MTA MetroCard that is honored for travel on both the PATH and the New York City Subway transit systems. Travelers are advised that a single MetroCard may be swiped up to four times on a one-way trip (i.e., a traveler and three guests may use a single MetroCard swiped four times to gain admittance through the turnstile on a given trip). This feature avoids the need to purchase a separate MetroCard for each individual in the traveling party.
