Travelers arriving at Jamaica Station must purchase an MTA MetroCard with at least $ 5.00 in value to exit through the AirTrain fare gates for connecting service to New York Penn Station via either the MTA Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) or New York City Transit Subway (E Line). In addition to the AirTrain usage fee, travelers must pay the applicable rail fare to New York Penn Station on the LIRR ($ 5.25) or NYC Transit Subway ($ 2.00).
